The CF Foundation and the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group is pleased to offer this one-day Cystic Fibrosis Pharmacist Boot Camp. Moderated by Dr. Robert Kuhn, PharmD from the University of Kentucky, the general program objectives are:
- Prepare a pharmacokinetics interpretation of aminoglycosides for both a pediatric and adult patient with CF
- Discuss the selection of pancreatic enzyme products based on patient and pharmaceutical factors.
- Discuss the management of insulin dosing and strategies in CFRD
- Delineate the factors that play a major role in drug deposition and distribution of aerosol drugs in CF.
- Discuss the selection of anti-microbial agents in the management of the acute pulmonary exacerbation in CF.
- Discuss the role of early drug therapy intervention in the care of patients with CF.
- Discuss the need for other aerosol agents e.g. rhDnase, hypertonic saline in the management of patients with CF.
- Discuss the role of anti-inflammatory therapy in short term and long term management of CF.

The Renaissance Harborplace Hotel, in Balitmore, Maryland has been selected at the conference hotel for the CF Boot Camp in association with the 17th Pediatric Pharmacy Conference.
Conference participants are responsible for their own lodging. PPAG has secured special rooms rates of $199.00 per night for a single/double room. This discounted rate is guaranteed for reservations made on before September 2, 2008 at 5:00 pm eastern time.
