II. Alliances and Commitments
The Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group is an “international nonprofit professional association representing the interests of pediatric pharmacists and their patients”. This endorsement also established PPAG as a member of the International Alliance for Better Medicine. [Please read more about the Alliance here
PPAG supports the World Health Organization's "Make Medicine Children's Size" Campaign. To learn more about the campaign, go to: http://www.who.int/childmedicines/en/
. Launched on 6 December 2007, 'make medicines child size' is a global campaign spearheaded by WHO to raise awareness and accelerate action to address the need for improved availability and access to safe child-specific medicines for all children under fifteen (15).
PPAG is very interested in expanding the number of international members within its organization and encourages pediatric pharmacists to consider joining.
The organization has establishing an International Email Community which will facilitate communication with colleagues from around the world. An Email Community is essentially a list of E-mail addresses to which you can send a question or message (a list serve). Everyone on the list would receive your E-mail, and anyone willing to assist would respond. This is a tremendous way to communicate with colleagues from around the world without having to move from your computer. To join the International Email Community, CLICK HERE.
