Pharmacists improving medication therapy in children

Pediatric Chronic Diseases Specialty Conference

The Pediatric Chronic Diseases Specialty Conference offers continuing pharmacy education sessions on the medication management of seizure disorders, dermatology, transplant, sickle cell, pain, HIV, and mental health issues. This conference has been designed by pediatric pharmacists for pediatric pharmacists! The Specialty Conference is Chaired by Jared Cash, PharmD, Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator, Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, UT. The Pediatric Chronic Diseases Specialty Conference will take place on April 16-18, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Hotel Information- Affordable Rates!
 
The Salt Lake City Marriott Downtown has been selected at the conference hotel for the Chronic Diseases Specialty Conference. Conference participants are responsible for their own lodging. PPAG has secured special rooms rates of $99.00 per night for a single/double room.

This discounted rate is guaranteed for reservations made on before Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Reservations for the Event will be made by individual attendees directly with the hotel. Please call (801) 531-0800. For the special room rate you must identify yourself as attending the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group event.

Reservations made after March 31, 2010 are subject to availability and room rate increases. Make your reservations early to take advantage of the discounted rate. Major credit cards are acceptable and required to guarantee reservations.
Residency Project Presentations
 
PPAG offers an opportunity for Post-doctoral trainees (residents and fellows) to present their projects to pediatric pharmacy practitioners from across North America.

The format for the presentations will be similar to the format utilized at the regional residency conferences. Presentations can be on any pediatrics-based project and may be a work-in-progress report. The presentations are scheduled for April 17, 2010.

Conference Credit and Evaluation
 
The Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group is accredited by the American Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
The Pediatric Chronic Disease Specialty Conference is approved to provide 16 contact hours (1.6 CEU's) for pharmacists.

To receive credit participants must attend the session and fill out the online verification of attendance and conference evlauation form on or before April 23, 2010. To access the form, go to: www.ppag.org/sc10_eval. Certificates will be sent 3-4 weeks from the completion of the conference. Prticipants will not receive credit if there is a balance due.

PPAG has not received support from the pharmaceutical industry to support this conference.
