Pharmacogenomics can guide pharmacotherapy of patients receiving treatment in the areas of pain management, neurology, gastrointestinal disorders, infectious diseases and HIV as well as cardiology and oncology. This webinar will focus on the most common applications of pharmacogenomics in the pediatric population.
Learning Objectives for Pharmacists
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Identify the most commonly prescribed pharmacogenomics tests in pediatrics.
2 Demonstrate an understanding of how to modify a medication regimen based on a person's pharmacogenomic profile.

The Pediatric Pharmacy Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Presenter
Cyrine Haidar, PharmD, BCPS, BCOP
Dr. Haidar is the Clinical Pharmacogenetics Coordinator at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. She leads the clinical implementation of pharmacogenomics and is the principal investigator of the institution wide PG4KDS protocol. She is the program coordinator for St. Jude’s ASHP-accredited PGY2 Clinical Pharmacogenomics Residency and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She earned her Bachelor of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Doctorate degrees from the Lebanese American University in Byblos, Lebanon. She completed a pharmacotherapy (PGY1) residency at Hackensack University Medical Center and a Pediatric Oncology residency at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dr. Haidar has been at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital since 2004 initially serving as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and subsequently leading the Clinical Pharmacogenomics Service. Her main job functions include translating the scientific knowledge gained in pharmacogenomics into clinical practice. Her primary research interests are in in the fields of pediatric cancers and pharmacogenomics. Dr. Haidar serves on the Board of Directors of the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS), and is double board certified (BPS) in Pharmacotherapy and Oncology. She is an active member of the Clinical Pharmacogenetics Consortium (CPIC) and has authored 5 CPIC guidelines to date. Dr. Haidar is a founding member of the New Pharmacogenomics Research Network (PGRN) and is an Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy.
