Update on Pediatric Sepsis Management

This webinar will provide a review of the 2020 pediatric sepsis guidelines, with a focus on the medication management of sepsis in children. The studies used to support the guideline recommendations will be discussed, as well as further studies and additional medication management strategies beyond the guidelines.

Learning Objectives for Pharmacists
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Discuss the criteria for sepsis and septic shock in children.
2. Review the recommendations for the management of sepsis in pediatric patients.
3. Evaluate the evidence supporting the management of sepsis in pediatric patients.
4. Design a treatment plan using pharmacotherapy options for the management of pediatric sepsis beyond the guidelines.

The Pediatric Pharmacy Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
