Activity Description: This presentation will review current therapies available for outpatient seizure rescue in pediatrics patients. It will then review the process of developing and implementing an institutional policy regarding the use of intravenous midazolam for at-home intranasal use.
Learning Objectives for Pharmacists:
1. Recommend outpatient seizure rescue therapy for pediatric patients utilizing patient-specific factors.
2. Identify key stakeholders and steps in the development of an institutional policy on the use of intravenous midazolam for at-home intranasal use.
3. Prepare a plain language patient education document on the use of intravenous midazolam for at-home intranasal use.
