Summary

Activity Description: Learners may request accommodations during their didactic and experiential coursework. Accommodations may address a variety of needs, and can be academic, physical, medical, and/or technology-related. Faculty and preceptors are responsible for implementing accommodations for their courses, and communication with the learner is essential. This webinar will share basic information about accommodation regulations and several examples of handling accommodations in the classroom and experiential setting. Accommodation considerations for resident learning will also be discussed.

Learning Objectives for Pharmacists:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Identify the U.S. Acts of which accommodations are associated.

2. Describe effective implementation strategies for accommodations in the classroom setting.

3. Develop appropriate accommodations for student and resident experiential learners.

The Pediatric Pharmacy Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
