Dr. Carissa Jacobs, PharmD, BCPPS will conduct a 1-hour knowledge-based continuing education webinar program on the management of perforated appendicitis. She will briefly review the current IDSA recommendations followed by a literature review of the medical management of perforated appendicitis.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Summarize the current IDSA guidelines for the treatment of perforated appendicitis
2. Describe current evidence on the medical management of perforated appendicitis
3. Construct an antimicrobial regimen for pediatric patients with acute appendicitis
4. Explain the impact that perforated appendicitis has on healthcare costs

The Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
