Information we collect and how we use it
When you sign up for an account or membership at pediatricpharmacy.org or PPAG.org, we ask you for personal information (such as your name, your e-mail address, and an account password). For certain services, such as our online bookstore, we also request credit card or other payment account information which we maintain in encrypted form on secure servers. We use the information you provide about yourself when placing an order only to complete that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order or for one-time use by carefully selected members and companies that offer products and/or services that may be of interest to you. In addition, PPA may, from time to time, use this information to provide you with information regarding third party offerings that may be of interest to you. E-mail addresses are not shared with outside parties.
When you use pediatricpharmacy.org or PPAG.org, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a Web site. These server logs may include information such as the Web page you requested, your Internet Protocol address, your browser type, your browser language, the date and time of your request, and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.
When you send e-mail or other communications to PPA, we may retain those communications to process your inquiries, respond to your requests, and improve our services.
We may share with third parties certain pieces of aggregated, nonpersonal information, such as the number of people that visited a certain area on our Web site or a percentage of people who clicked a link in an e-mail. Such information does not identify you individually.
We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices, and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data. We restrict access to personal information to PPA employees, contractors, and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop, or improve our services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.
Accessing and updating personal information (Membership database search)
You may view and change the personal information you have on file with PPA via the MyPPA page (link at the top of all pages). PPA offers its members the ability to prevent personal contact information (primary mailing and/or billing address and phone number) from appearing on the PPAG.org Web site. To do so, please visit the MyPPA page.
