Association Staff Leadership
Matthew R. Helms, MA, CAE
Matt Helms has been the Executive Director of the Pediatric Pharmacy Association since November 2003. Matt directs all day-to-day operations of PPA. He provides direction and policy interpretation to volunteer leadership; recommending and managing the annual budget, managing all aspects of membership services, developing new services, coordinating continuing education programs and special events, and soliciting sponsorships, grants, and donations.
Matt earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a Master of Arts from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee. Prior to joining PPA, Matt served as the Managing Editor of the Journal of Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics, the official Journal of PPA. He also worked at the University of Tennessee, Health Science Center in Memphis and interned at Presidential Classroom in Washington, DC.
Since 2004 Matt has been a member of the ASAE & the Center for Association Leadership and the Tennessee Society of Association Executives (TNSAE). He served on Board of Directors of TNSAE (2009-15), Memphis Challenge (2009-13), and the Shelby County TN Head Start (2011-13). He served as Chair of the TNSAE Communications Committee is 2009-10 and as President in 2014. Matt was named to Memphis Business Journal's Top 40 under 40 in 2011.
Matt serves as the staff liaison to the Board of Directors, Membership Committee, Finance Committee, Advocacy Committee, Drug Development Committee, Research Committee, and all standing Awards Committees.
Lauren L. Henretty, BA
Manager of Education
Lauren Henretty joined the Pediatric Pharmacy Association in November 2019. Lauren coordinates all educational programs at PPA, including the Annual Meeting, Fall Conference, webinars, home programs, and BCPPS Recertification Programs.
Lauren earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining PPA, Lauren served as the Education Specialist and Coordinator of the Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) at the Water Environment Federation (WEF). She also served as the Coordinator of Conferences for the Color Marketing Group and a Professional Education Specialist at the American Diabetes Association.
Lauren serves as the staff liaison to all education content committees: Annual Meeting Planning Committee, Fall Conference Planning Committee, Webinar Committee, and the BCPPS Recertification Committee.
