Rapid Sequence Intubation in Special Patient Populations



Summary
Dr. Lauren Buenger, PharmD, BCPS, BCPPS will conduct a 1-hour knowledge-based continuing education webinar program on rapid sequence intubation (RSI) in Special Patient Populations. She will discuss the unique practice points for drug therapy for premedication for rapid sequence intubation in obese patients and in patients with traumatic brain injury.

Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be able to: 1.Review the available literature to determine dosing recommendations for drug therapy as premedication for obese patients requiring rapid sequence intubation. 2. Evaluate the available literature to support the use of or avoidance of medications as premedication for patients with traumatic brain injury requiring rapid sequence intubation. 3. Recommend drug therapy as premedication for obese patients requiring rapid sequence intubation Recommend drug therapy as premedication for patients with traumatic brain injuries requiring rapid sequence intubation

Accreditation:
ACPE logo PPAG has accredited this knowledge-based webinar for 1.0 contact hours (0.10 CEUs) of continuing education credit for pharmacists. UAN #0180-0000-17-017-L01-P.

BCPPS Recertification Credit is also available for PPAG members if you select that pricing option during registration. Participants will be required to complete an evaluation and pass an exam in order to receive their certificate. Once the exam is passed, participants will receive 1-hour BCPPS credit.

The Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. In order to receive credit, participants must register for the program, attend the program, and fill out a post-program survey. Webinar programs are 100% supported through program registration fees and PPAG membership dues, and is not supported by Industry.

Group Pricing: Group pricing is available through online registration for CE only. Groups will need to email Jennifer Chow at jennifer.chow@ppag.org their attendance list with each participants name, email, NABP# and DOB in order to receive credit. Group Pricing is NOT available for BCPPS credit-in order for each person to complete a post-test.

Join the live program from your office, home, or hotel room using a computer with high speed internet. You may ask questions, participate in surveys, and post comments from your computer during the program. Please note that credit (if available) is only provided to registered attendees participating at their own computer and phone. Simple instructions with a link to the program will be sent when you register and again the day before the webinar.

Credit
If applicable, you may obtain credit in multiple jurisdictions simultaneously for this program (see pending/approved list below). Registrants in jurisdictions not listed below will receive a Certificate of Attendance/Completion that may or may not meet credit requirements in other jurisdictions. Where applicable, credit will be only awarded to a paid registrant attending the live program at their own computer and phone.
