Summary

Among the elements of USP 800 concerning the handling of hazardous drugs causing the most confusion among pharmacies is whether to handle some other “hazardous” chemicals not on the NIOSH List, when and where elements of personal protective equipment (PPE) should be worn, and how USP 800 and OSHA regulations overlap and interact. The intent of this session is to provide pharmacies with information on these three topics.
